I plan on analyzing http://nautil.us for my Unit 1 project. According to Writingcenter.tamu.edu, “A rhetorical analysis is an essay that breaks a work of nonfiction into parts and then explains how the parts work together to create a certain effect—whether to persuade, entertain or inform,” and in my Unit one project I will break down everything from writing styles to formatting to show how great and where Nautilus can improve. I will analyze the blog by using intellectual standards; such as how fair the authors are in their writings and how original the articles or the entirety of the website is. Using these Intellectual standards it gives people who think critically a way of sifting good works from bad ones.

I have some experience in writing rhetorical analysis papers from past high level english classes. However I think that I definitely could improve. I hope to find out where my weaknesses are. I hope to also solidify strengths in analysis skills. I also hope to learn more about the blog I have chosen.
